The Consortium on Law and Values in Health, Environment & the Life Sciences ( is pleased to announce a funding opportunity for graduate and professional students on all UMN campuses. This funding initiative aims to encourage work on the broad societal implications of problems in health, environment, or the life sciences. Proposals for student-initiated programs or colloquia will also be accepted.

For the 2014-2015 Consortium, four of the five grants awarded were given to professional students, totaling nearly $28,000!  Maximum individual awards of up to $7,000 are available.

The Request for Proposals (RFPs) may be found at Deadline for submission is Monday, February 15, 2016 and awards will be announced by March 24, 2016. Funds are available after July 1, 2016 for work in Summer 2016 and Academic Year 2016-17.

The Consortium currently links 19 University programs and centers to examine the legal, ethical, and policy questions raised by the life sciences.
